@ManueB that stove is fantastic! Our old stove wasn't that old, and had developed a hole in the ventilation part in the back. In replacing it with the new one we discovered the chimney was a house fire in the making. The chimney hadn't been put in correctly to begin with. Neither stove is really cook able on, but this one has a thermometer on it so we could if we had to. If the old stove were as old (and well built) as yours, we would have likely been able to fix it (and found the chimney problems the hard way). As it sits, I would love to have a stove like yours, but and delighted and thankful to have the one we got (even with all the installation issues). I wish you luck finding another one like that.

More fit under there!

Your group still has a lot of stuff to work out. How old are all the boys now?
Cheetah is 15 months now. Hector is 25 weeks, and the rest are 17 weeks. Whiskey still hasn't crowed, but is starting to show some interest in the girls. He's been pretty sneaky: they're NOT mad at him or wary and unwilling to be anywhere near him (unlike Horus and Kren), so he may be more successful in claiming and keeping "his" girls. All the boys spend time on sentinel duty, thankfully. It isn't always mayhem. With the guys working on the house yesterday, the whole lot of them spent the day out in/around the olive trees/the coop. They are wary of strangers as well as "wildlife" (dogs included). I also sent 3 dozen eggs with the crew yesterday. 1 has chickens: 6 "Rhode island reds" that are a little younger than my youngest crew. He said they're about the same color as Pippa and Maizie. I told him I don't think they're Rhodies, but rather Buff Orps. He's got 3 roos, only one crowing has a scissor beak. Not sure what he's going to do about that, but pointed him towards byc for some info/support.

Gah, I need to hide from my horse facebook groups for a few days. A 11 year old Chocolate Ky Mountain mare was just listed that has the build I prefer in the breed. "I do NOT need a mare, I do NOT need a mare." watched the videos, she moves gorgously...no I repeat, "I do NOT need a mare."

Everyone remind me I have 3 horses already and do NOT need a mare.

How many people who ride at your place? Maybe you need another mount.... :duc

Yea I was thinking of calling him Zeus. That name has been stuck in my head since before he arrived if I ever got a rooster lol. Right now Im just watching all their cute behaviors and little quirks. Its so cute.
That's a good name for a rooster....personally, I see Zeus as the one who Flys really well, loves to roost up high and divebomb everyone getting down: lightning bolt from the clear sky! Sounds like he's starting life with an authoritative spirit....good luck with his teenage years....

You have come to the wrong place to find strength and support for not getting more animals. We are all enablers. 😆
It is one thing to enable chickens......I need you all to knock some sense into me when it comes to horses. Hay has already risen $3.00 a bale in the last month since the floods. I currently have 3, all boys, 1 of them a stallion. I get along wonderfully with the boys. I do not need a mare with the potential attitude problems. We've all heard the term "mean mares", I've met my fair share of the knot heads. This would not be so agonizing if she had the more common long, lean and tubular build I see most Ky and Rocky mountains have. No this girl is thick and curvy and almost has a Quarter horse type build which Dirt has and is the build I adore in the breed.

So......you're getting her to breed with Dirt and expand the number of stocky, curvy builds in the breed you love?

Getting creative on the feed and starting a breeding business?

No, no breeding. Dirt will probably never be bred. I'm not set up to raise a foal, I do not have the room or proper stalls required. Dirt is my dad's horse, my dad has always had stallions, he actually prefers them to geldings. He knows how to handle them, and does not let Dirt get away with anything and use the excuse, "Well he is a stallion." Until this show season Dirt had not even been ridden with mares. He behaves like a perfect gentleman, no squealing or screaming, standing perfectly still right next to a mare and his 5th leg never once drops.
