Those flowers are huge like a dinner plate!

I might get more next year they do tend to grow into a big bush but I have tended to let them get ratty this year - next year I am going to dig them up and move them.

Don't know what to suggest for the vent, but boiling water down the drain should get any in there.

Some mosquito netting covering the vent will keep them out.

Middle of September and besides the cochin nonsense I thought I would be finished this year with crazy broodies. Nope, I was wrong. Apparently my girls think once someone has chicks reach a couple weeks of age someone has to pick up the ball and go broody. Bunny with no warning waited until it got dark and instead of going to the roost plops herself down in one of the porch boxes. Angry, shrieking, biting hen sitting on NOTHING. Once it gets good and dark I will pack her squawking butt to the roost. I figure it will take a week of throwing her out of the boxes to break her.

Apparently my girls think once someone has chicks reach a couple weeks of age someone has to pick up the ball and go broody. Tried with Dorothy but she had it bad…. I would drag her off she would eat drink poop fluff i the dust the run back to her nest!!!

I gave up after a month and just would haul her off 2or 3 times a day….

Now I don’t fight them, i just sigh and drag them off a few times a day. Crazy hens!!!

Mine don't do that but if I take a pee outside the males dogs all gotta go in the same spot when I finish

I was very surprised that Dorothy went broody her egg mum Penelope has not once in all her 6 years tried to go broody!

Guess Dorothy turns after for dada’s side of the family! Whatever they are…..
