Fluffy day

Took some on the roost the other day. Blanche settling in

Asphodel is the largest of the 3 hobbit Brahmas. Her fluff is down right commanding!

And has a first the other day. Pippa made it to the top of the "well" house. Roof is slippery. Hector was after her (he makes her look tiny, but she's almost the same size as Jess, Silver, Pear, and Storm: feathered dimensions, she isnt up to their weights yet). She let me pack her into the coop from here to avoid him (Maizie has done so several times and is pretty relaxed about it)

I do not see one funny hairdo in that group. Jury is still out on whether or not Goose will join the cool kids club with a funny do although I'm suspecting she will not.
Exactly! Those are @Kris5902 , called 'fascinators' Stylish small ladies' wear head gear Just ask @RoyalChick , right?? 😉

Got out of bed, started the coffee pot, answered Castor's piteous call at the door....brought out his breakfast....judging by the water running through the down spout to the bowl (this one)

You all, I just discovered something this evening. White Tail Buff Marans. They look exactly like what mom and myself want. A member on BYC has them, one teeny tiny problem, they are in Australia. I asked them if this variety is available in the states. I swear if they are not I'm packing up and moving to the land of the drop bears.
Well, even if I know nothing about breeds however beautiful these are they are not Marans 😉. Ok, I learned that standards are different in different countries ...but it's something I don't get, for me it's like if you made a cheese with pasteurized milk in the states and called it camembert 😂.

Local food : my partner is having lunch in Nice today as it's his workday and he sent me this 😋

Some butts for Friday. No real fluff as most were either dust or sunbathing. And with the molting it gets harder to come close to them, I don't know if your chickens also act shy/ unfriendly when they molt ?

Big legs, high butt, no fluff!

That rooms completely dark, the suns barely coming up, and these chicks are wide awake! :lau 💕
They can see ultraviolet light that we can't, so the sun 'rises' earleir for them than for us, as those light waves reach the Earth before our visible spectrum of light does. The unscientific article I happen to read a month or so ago said those light wavelengths start 'reaching the Earth) up to an hour before our visible light. Now I'm going to have to see what I CAN find that is legit on this. Thanks, you now gave e another task! 🙄 Maybe I can do this one on my break, though, as it shouldn't make me cry!!
