That sounds like what my brother would call me when we were young kids and he wasn't happy if Mom sided with me that time!

That is a lovely picture...too bad the head wasn't turned even just a bit so you could get some profile, Either way, I would submit it for POW. I can honestly say that I really like pictures like this and recent ones from @RoyalChick for my calendar pictures.....love them in their natural elements!!! ❤️ And the dusty/silvery colour of the foliage just is perfect tonally with her (?Blanche, right?)

Well, even if I'm very open on questions of identity, that's a relief to know 🤣!

They will be 16 weeks this Sunday, but Piou-piou was always about five weeks behind in growth and obviously this has altered eventual sexual characteristics.

@Marie2020 : I have used Artemisia last year for the chickens in an infusion mixed with thyme twice a month. I put about one hand full of leaves in one and a half liters water, and add a teaspoon of honey as it's very bitter. I also propose plain water next to it so they are not forced to drink it. It is toxic in high doses so should not be given too frequently. I don't think you can give it to cats and dogs, not that it will be dangerous for them, but it's so bitter I doubt they will have it if it's not transformed in a form that is palatable to them.
And remember it won't be any use for an animal that is infested- if you actually see the worms, it means they have too many to be treated naturally.
Do you know if this plat kills or comatose flies or knats? I managed to wipe away a bunch of these off the door where I hung the branches 🤔

Some Thoughts on Queen Aurora

View attachment 3263028

Over the years I have opined about my fears if Aurora ever became leader of my tribe of misfits. I need to take some of that back.

She has rounded into a pretty good choice as leader for this group. Her need to remind everyone she is leader has slacked off considerably.

She surely has accepted the newcomers with little abuse. Easing their way into the tribe.

She is not only alpha hen, she is also sentinel nearly all the time. It seems she does not have anyone she can trust in that role.

She has allowed Phyllis to set her nest in peace even contributing eggs to her efforts.

The only time I still see the old Aurora is when it comes to treats. She must have more than her fair share. Outside of that she has become an exemplary leader who works hard all day. This is really a surprising development and something I am very happy about.
What about her detective job?

I know it is not Tuesday but I just caught this duo resting in the butterfly bush and thought it was good enough to share.

This is gorgeous, and the previous picture too. You are taking really wonderful pictures!

Poor Sad Dorothy

She isn’t looking very chipper but I told her in a few weeks she will be resplendent again ❤️

Are you giving her some extra protein? That is, if she’s eating layer it’s usually not a high-protein feed. Protein helps with making new feathers…

I also wonder why chickens all over the world are moulting early. It's also the first year all of my adults moult at the same time, and it's quite scary.

I felt kind of bad taking pictures of molting butts. I left Chipie and Blanche in peace because they're the worst.

Why prefer bigger butts ? Smaller younger butts don't molt. Says Léa.

Cannelle has about two tail feathers left. Poor girl started first and she's far from done.

Mr smart butt 👿.

Brune is the only ex-batt that's not looking painful, but she got some side feathers ripped off by Théo.

Merle asks what is a big fluffy butt ? She prefers being so light she can fly to the moon 🌚.
