I will try Dorothy with some sardinesI'm taking a tin of sardines out to my birds later today, making sure every single moulting bird gets some, but sharing a bit with all of them.

Poor babiesMy baby chicks are having a rough mini molt.
Just remember, though, birds of all kinds have been dealing with this for thousands of years. I agree it looks so uncomfortable...but it is a natural process that they have learned to deal with. (Though I do wonder if our breeding has made them moult more quickly? I never see a naked wild bird...but is it because they don't molt as rapidly...or is it because they are in hiding?)I don’t like the molting process, so much drama and it seems so painful !

The stuff I ordered is actually marketed for chickens. However, I didn't check before ordering it but it's very high in calcium, next time I will get the stuff to make fish bait with. I think they don't put as much bones because it has more protein and less calcium.Gorgeous pictures as always. And Merle
What kind of fishmeal do you use? The same as is sold for gardens or something specific for food purposes? I am wondering about how to supplement with fish meal. Meanwhile, I am just using starter/grower chicken feed (the insect protein based one).
She really is a beautiful girl! She must have been stunning in her younger days. How is she doing ?Pony Sunday
