I got a chicken snake out of the coop this morning. I got snake bit twice In the process, but I managed to get it out it bit one of my leghorns on it's leg. And it was squirming all around my Rhode Island Red Hailey. I had no Idea how long it had been out there before I came out and If it bit my other hens. I wish I had some photos for you of the beast, It was about 6 ft long. My chickens are all doing fine. I am as well. This is not the only time I've been snake bit, but I am glad this one is non-venomous. I've gotten chicken snakes out of friends coops before, this is just one of the few snakes I will get out with my own hands, but My chickens are safe! For now...........

OMG I hate snakes!

Right! I do hate snakes that get in chicken coops, but to be honest I really love other kinds of pet snakes such as the Western Hognose snake. I used to own one! They are such gentile reptiles. I had wild snake kill some pullets I had a few years ago. I was heartbroken, but thankfully chicken snakes are more likely to go for a chicken's eggs than the chicken itself, but I'm glad I got it out! Don't want to take any chances.

What a day, someone turned up too ask my views on crime, i didn't hold back or answer questions too personal.

It's such a cheek expecting to visit without being asked
The guy was so nice i gave him my views and told him to write " none of your business " on questions I found unacceptable.

Then as I walked my little lambchop I discovered this old guy has been locked out of his apartment 😕, so went searching for someone with a ladder. I found someone but they are going to be at least another hour :(

Tax.
It's difficult taking pictures of these girls when they are chilling out under cover

I was feeling slightly awkward and sad taking tuefer today pictures with all the cruel losses of these last days. I like @rural mouse renaming- I'll think of it as friendship Tuesday.
( Although I don't know if the bond between my chickens should be called friendship, or kinship, or pecking order 🙄.)

Nougat and Brune, sunworshippers.

Rosie had a follow-up this morning with her orthopedic surgeon. Finally, one week shy of 3 months since her accident she got the news she was desperate for. As long as she uses the saddle, and stays at a walk until her December appointment she is cleared to ride. This is a huge relief as for the past month she has been hounding me on wanting to get back on Russ. Many times resulting in both of us near or in tears. She wanted to get on him the minute we got home, I'm making her wait until her papaw gets home. They can trail ride together this evening. That way he can keep a eye on her and ensure she stays at a walk. We all know teenagers, I think her hearing shut down the second the doctor told her she could ride again.

So happy for her (and you)!
