I have a major decision to make today, and I have little time to think it over. It concerns chaco’s quality of life, and the pain that the veterinarian says that she’s been experiencing in the last few days. :(
Oh no. I'm so sorry. :hugs :hugs

Vet said she could operate and attempt to remove an obstruction in the intestine, but the operation isn’t guaranteed success. My veterinarian has had little success with this kind of obstruction. If it’s inside where it cannot be reached, Chaco maybe die right then. I have been warned about this, and it’s my decision now. I don’t know what to do.
The actual procedure is too graphic to explain here on BYC

Another twofer. Maggie and Diana at the wild water bowl.
Forgive Maggie’s atrocious butt. It gets dirty when she doesn’t roost properly at night.
My poor old lady is hanging in there for now but is definitely not well.
Fortunately it is sunny today so she can spend as much time as she wants on her favorite activity, soaking up the rays.

Rosie had a follow-up this morning with her orthopedic surgeon. Finally, one week shy of 3 months since her accident she got the news she was desperate for. As long as she uses the saddle, and stays at a walk until her December appointment she is cleared to ride. This is a huge relief as for the past month she has been hounding me on wanting to get back on Russ. Many times resulting in both of us near or in tears. She wanted to get on him the minute we got home, I'm making her wait until her papaw gets home. They can trail ride together this evening. That way he can keep a eye on her and ensure she stays at a walk. We all know teenagers, I think her hearing shut down the second the doctor told her she could ride again.
:clap:ya
That's great news ❤

Then in that case you have saved her more stress and pain. You're a lovely man and she was lucky to have you ❤ ♥ 💕

I am sad to read of Daisy’s passing. Such a pretty girl. 😢
So am I. She was very pretty. I had a Buff Orpington named Daisy. She passed away just a tad bit over a year ago. I also placed her in a little box and buried her in my yard. But now, over a year later, I have a White Leghorn Pullet named Daisy. She is just like My first ever Daisy whom I got in 2013. She was also a leghorn. All 3 generations of Daisy I treasure in the Daisy Family tree in my heart. Pssst! She is my PFP! This photo of her I took a few months ago. I just edited the background. She is now laying eggs, and has been for about 2 months. And her comb is quite large, and goes flap, flap, flappy flap, as she runs about.
