It can be a little confusing trying to stay current in this thread while also back-reading it. I forget which part I am reading. Trying not to reply to post that are several years old.

I am on page 391. It’s taking forever with limited time to read each day. But I am loving everyone’s stories.

Yes, I agree, I was in the same boat as you last fall. However, it is SOOO worth reading through everything. So many great stories and good information! (some heart-breaking ones, too , though.)

@RoyalChick How is Maggie today? I felt I needed to read everything first, just in case you had already posted. I'm hoping she is feeling/doing better. Oh, how I wish it was just a 'I'm molting and not up to snuff' thing, but your last post dissuaded me of that hopeful notion.

Pretty much the same. Which is awful. She hauled herself out of bed again today to sit in a patch of sun. But nobody is going out in the run because it is cold and very windy.
She just sits.
Rather sweetly Bernie sat with her for a long time this morning.
I am heading out to tempt her with some shrimp.

I went to the store for the first time in months I had to stop and take breaks and omg too much. Just a reminder I can't do what I used too.
Bought a new Taurus 40 caliber today! Woohoo new gun to go shoot.

Pretty much the same. Which is awful. She hauled herself out of bed again today to sit in a patch of sun. But nobody is going out in the run because it is cold and very windy.
She just sits.
Rather sweetly Bernie sat with her for a long time this morning.
I am heading out to tempt her with some shrimp.

I'm so sorry If I remember, Bernie did that with Bella, some, too! She may be a bold one, but she is also a very caring chicken!

You are right. She did. I put it down to them being brooder buddies and were always kind of close and a bit competitive with each other. Bella sat with Bernie when Bernie couldn't walk.
I was surprised to see Bernie sitting with Maggie though. It was cute to see.
