Ever since Bob effectively cut down a tree, rebuilt a coop, and a deck all in a weekend I have had a growing sense from this thread that I am not as productive as the rest of you.

Several of you have cleaned out coops, built runs and fences, @Kris5902 has (nearly) built a house!

And now I read this post about collecting bedding and it has pushed me over the edge.

I am clearly as lazy as all hell!

I too use leaves and pine needles. I heap them all up behind a big forsythia bush and take them off the top when I need them (the bottom layers are usually too damp). It is true I usually keep a couple of big lawn bags in the garage to dry out but that is about it (and I haven't even done that yet).

What is wrong with me?!

I think I will just have a little rest on the sofa while I think about this issue!

I used to collect the shavings from the chainsaw users that also rip their wood instead of splitting it, not just buck it up, spread them out on a tarp, dry and bag it during summer… now I just buy them at $20/ bag compressed. It doesn’t matter in the end how it happens as long as the girls are happy and have their bedding!
