That is basically the same dose as I gave you - 0.1ml per kg given morning and evening for 5 days.
Casportpony is a bit heavier in her dosing which is not a bad thing and there is a safety margin.
And, as I said, when you actually come to draw it up, tap out the air bubbles, and squint at the 1ml syringe, I defy you to be so accurate!
There was a tiny bubble, so I drew slightly more, as I agree anywhere between .25 and .30 would be okay. Wasn't sure if I could tip it up and tap the bubble up, expel it and then dip it again in the bottle to get more, but I'm going to try that next time. I used to give our cat Calvin (RIP) insulin, but that dispensing method already started at the proper angle for bubbles.

I had planned on deep cleaning the coop and re bedding it with sawdust. I also wanted to fix a few spots on the tarp that covers it. Not going to happen today I'm afraid. It is pouring rain. Not only that, someone....ok me, it was me, forgot to cover over the sawdust last night after the horses stalls were done. I will winterize the coop sometime over the weekend when everything dries out.

Does Flour have feathered legs? What breed is she, such a lovely girl, all of them actually ❤️
Believe it or not Flour, Sugar, and Biscotti are all the same line. They are all Easter Eggers from a line called Moss Eggers by the hatchery I got them from. Yes, all of those girls have feathered feet as French BCM’s were used as one of the breeds that created them. Thank you I think they are turning into pretty ladies too! 💕

Those 3 girls are lovely. Oreo and Brownie are my favorites, but those 3 are a close 2nd. Especially Biscotti, my poor Cricket, rip sweetie, looked like her with only a few more spots.

So Mr. Twig has some explaining to do. You all know he has given me a bit of grief over taming him. I now know he was intentionally doing it. The little jerk loves to be held, I'm just not his favorite person. Yesterday I saw him going up one of my neighbors steps. I ran up that way to shoo him off as I discourage them from other yards and getting on peoples porches is a no no. I get to her driveway and what do I find? My neighbor and her 5 year old daughter sitting on their porch with Twiggy in between them being hand fed cracked corn and bird seed. She spots me, starts laughing and said she'd stolen my rooster. Twiggy visits every afternoon and has learned to come running at the sound of his treat bucket being shook. After my initial shock at the sight, I explained I just did not like them getting on other's porches which besides hers they do not. Her husband walks out and begged me to let them continue to visit daily. Apparently my chickens visits is the only thing stopping him from having to buy chickens himself for his kids. I'm happy my neighbors love my chickens, but at the same time I want to strangle Twig. It's ok little man, next time your daddy is ready to thump you do not come running to me.

Thank you 😊 Oreo and Brownie are wonderful stable dependable kinda personalities and beautiful too! I foresee some babies from those two in the future :) We shall see what happens next spring/summer if any go broody. I seem to remember Phyllis going broody quite soon after starting to lay so anything is possible!

You ended up with several hens with Marans in their background right? I know a lot of lines are different, but in general Marans are considered a broody breed. Mine definitely are and so are the mixes I've kept. The majority of mine have went broody for the first time not long after they begin laying, and are repeat offenders as well.

I am laughing but also glad the piece of the behavior puzzle you did not have has been found. Also, its adorable that the missing piece was humans sharing space and love with chickens. I see your dilemma but at least its a good cause.
