Hi Kelly. Wrists and thumbs are fine. Bruises are healing. My ribs are mad at me for working with cinder blocks in the run yesterday. They aren’t going to like the bags of sand today, either. I either still have the cold, or it’s progressed to a sinus infection, but I’m still functioning! 🤣
You take it easy and be careful! But glad your ‘functional’ 🥰

Don’t over do it. You need to heal.

First steps in preparing the Chicken Palace for winter.
I have closed the baffles right up in the gable ends - but I am not sure of one of the catches so need to figure that out. Not too critical because it is 4’ above their heads so really only an issue if snow is blowing in.
I have started taking in their hanging baskets hoping the plants survive in the garage over the winter. Are you really surprised that the Chicken Palace has houseplants? I can’t have plants in the house because of the cats so I hung some in the Chicken Palace!
And I have set up the flat panel heater facing the main roost. It attaches to a board that goes across the window so it can be removed in the spring. Now I need to go find the Thermocube that turns it on when it gets below 35 degrees.
