Another excerpt from my bio. In high school, I volunteered as a sighted guide for the blind. We had so much fun, going everywhere and doing everything. I was voted Braille institute’s sighted guide for the blind, volunteer of the year three consecutive years . I really miss those days, and the wonderful people too.
One day, I was bored, so I picked up a phone book and the rest was history!

Don’t bother with Mr. P I’m going to steal that rooster! He’s the greatest!
Poor Mr P is crammed up on the top of that nest box with Sophia and Whiskers, and those Silkies are bound and determined to give me a fit roosting up so high!

I will head out soon and move everyone around so my wee silkies will be safer.

Partial Success

Betty is using the new roost setup. This is the third night in a row I believe.

I have removed all the straw from the nest boxes. No one is laying and it is cold sitting in there without the straw. I am hoping to encourage Hattie to at least sleep in the coop. I want to keep the mess out of there.

I caught this consequence of the new roosts. It seems it Sydney roosts on the side of the high roost her feathers hit the support for the Maleficent roost. Oh well.

The Rascals are up late tonight. Everyone else was roosts and they were still scratching away.

It was very cold and windy here today. The tribe spent nearly all day in the coops by choice.
Same here, quite the change from the other day 🥺

Is there any drama due Sydney’s feathers trespassing? Like kids, some of my gang just can’t roost next to each other!

I did a egg count for this week. With only 9 girls laying, I got 72 eggsReally - who laid more than 1 egg a day? are you sure that didn't include 2 weekends (9 days?)? for the week. I thought they deserved something special for their hard work so tomorrow they have a big bag of Craisins to share.
Hmmm, you know I have lots of birds......I have only been getting 13-17 eggs/day lately!! :( (Even with 9 girls being new layers!) I just might have to go out to the run with a fry pan in my hand! :lau Free loaders!!
