I got some Lilly cuddles in. Half the time she still comes to the porch to roost on it. We end up packing her out to the coop after dark. Tonight she thought she needed to roost on the porch. I walked outside and snuggled her for a bit before I hollered at Rosie to move her. She is off my disown list.
Lilly was on the porch, holding vigil for your quick recovery ❤️‍🩹 (it was all for your benefit) what a sweet bird! :love

I am out doing Christmas shopping. I know, I know, you are probably all done already.
I am shopping garden centers. Thought I would share this from one of them.
He really plays with all those toys. I have no idea what he is - but his coloring is beautiful.

Hello FBA! While some of you are struggling with ice, the rain yesterday and a bit of sun today has completely melted our snow. I'll confess I'm happy to see the sun back. Three days of having to dry our stinking boots by the stove is enough for me 😅!

I've got a lot of butts today. I wouldn't dare post so many pictures normally but I had almost none last Friday so I figure it would balance out !

A bully's butt, Piou-piou. She's growing uncontrollable! I haven't let her know about Ask Aurora because who knows what would happen 🤣.

Chipie- she's grown most of her black feathers back, her butt is very pretty now!

And some ex-batt's butts : Brune, Cannelle and Nougat. Some of Nougat's new feathers are broken already, you can see one sticking out in the right. I'm not sure if they have grown wrong or if she has been pecked. But she's got most of her feathers back, and is almost done with her awful molt 💚.

So, this is only semi-chicken related, but I was given this mug. It will be a great camping mug as it is porcelain covered steel. (enamelware)

I was confused at first, as though I would have liked to be, I am not a mom.:(

Was told 'Well, of course you are, you are a chicken mom!"

I have to say, it made me think of @RoyalChick! :D

Everyone was happy to get some warm mash with cooked/chopped veggies this morning! 2 days in a row...they may 'bawk' tomorrow when they don't get any veggie mash!

From olden days. the 'sleep tight' part was bed. 'frames' were wooden perimeters with rope running through instead of like present day slats to support the mattress. So, one would tighten the ropes periodically so that the bed was more comfortable, not so horribly saggy ( as the ropes would stretch over time)

The 'bed bugs' part was there were mites and things. The mattresses were basically stuffed 'bags' of straw, and it wasn't uncommon for there to be any one or more of an assortment of bugs infesting the 'mattress' of straw.

Presently, these are my only 2 birds tolerating our current weather system:View attachment 3351116
Silly birds they should have flown into your garage for the winter!
