Wow caught up, only took me 2.5 hours :p
Been in washing machine repair hell for weeks. We also had a total failure/explosion of our kitchen faucet last week. Literally parts flying off and water spraying everywhere, right as i was about to go to bed.

Weather has been crazy here too, 40s and raining or 20s with hot sun. We too are expecting the winter storm thursday/Friday, but probably a nasty ice storm vs snow.

I love the cat playing soccer (football)! Enzo does that too.

Branch would like to inform you that if the kids need watching he is the man for the job. Need help incubating the eggs, he would try if you would let him. When they are hatching he will be right by your side for moral support. He knows where the tastiest grub worms are that he will only dig up for the chicks. Need to lay a egg, he is good to baby sit for a hour or so when they are older. He does differ on opinions for when they are old enough to be left alone. You might be done with them at 6 weeks or so, he is going to keep them all together and right by his side for another month or two. There are things a daddy needs to teach the young ones once mommy is done with them.
Aurora was surprised to hear that any rooster does this and considers him to be an example to all other roosters! Great job Branch. 👍

She also said you must have one special alpha hen to have taught him the correct ways. 👍👍 for her!

I told the boys about this weeks column. The boys took a collected offense. They are off discussing it and will be back later to have their input on some of her views. They also claimed that Queen Aurora obviously comes from a roosterless flock and is one sided on her views.
Lilly has told all of them the stories of the Jabberwocky. Aurora knows of the roosters.

Please stay safe over the next few days. It is going to be dangerous cold there over the next few days.
We're layering up, minimizing time outside, keeping travel stuff handy, and making stews. Birds are all hunkering down and snuggling together. Only critters moving outside are the magpies.
