Jaffar must be having a dream. I can hear him snoring in the next room. Little guy actually woke me up. I had to go check on him.

A rooster that snores!Jaffar must be having a dream. I can hear him snoring in the next room. Little guy actually woke me up. I had to go check on him.
Was a bitter sweet xmas. My father in law. My only dad was here and got me rooster and chicken poop chapstick. But we just found out he has non small cell lung cancer stage 4. Its in his lungs and throat and other places. I went through the same thing with my dad.

Maybe they find the symmetry aesthetically pleasing,Chances of winning, though very low, is still better if you play than if you don't.That said, I'd rather put my $1 into my retirement account. Safer and a better bet.

They have free choice which coop they roost in. They all sandwich together. In my 'green coop', with 2 roosts (4' each) There will be 7 or 8 on one roost, 3 or 4 on the other. At least they have snuggle buddies in this cold!
And, @RoyalChick Notice the alternating? And those 3 in the front are best buddies. In my mobile coop (5' wide), I've had 10 chickens smooshed on 1 roost, and the rest on the second, with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th completely empty...nd they roughly alternate there, too. Sometimes 2 in a row the same way. ...... they do seem to fit tighter that way. also, my little buggers that roost on TOP of the dog pen and have to be put away....they also roughly alternate. I grab the ones facing away first (easier to have them step up onto my arm). By the time I come back - just a minute or two - a couple others have turned around so there are still some facing each way. I truly suspect it si for protection - see from both sides...though it is just supposition on my end.
I really wish I had weather like @fuentemoon's right now. After heavy winds and temperatures in the teens (and below zero at night), I'm ready to warm up. Today will be 30 F and from Thursday to next Monday, they say that weather will be in the 50's, which I'm excited for but not so excited for because that's going to progressively change over the next few days. The poor chicken's water keeps freezing up, so we're using a black tub to prevent freezing.Thank you! Happy Holidays to you, as well. Hope it warms up so you can spend some quality Chicken time!
Lovely pictures (but about the earthquake comment.. (I’m pretty shook up about it) !I really wish I had weather like @fuentemoon's right now. I think I picked the wrong state to live in... but then again... maybe not because some states get somewhat cold during the summer and don't have to experience hurricanes like Florida and earthquakes like California (sorry Alex) and wherever else. I'm that one person who loves all hot and no cold.
A lot of chicken and cat photos. I won't use funny captions this time around.
