Yep, they are noisy and opinionated!Video from today
I'm glad you are not leaking!I remember when the littles would sing me to sleep at night. And scream at me for food in the morning. I miss those brooder days. And I still want some EE’s this year. We shall see. (Ps. My temporary roof patch has held up exceptionally well.) it’s raining hard now.
Don’t worry about me, I’m wearing a mask as I communicate with you all (just in case).Give it up Bernie! Let it be....
Poor Alex - are we giving him all sorts of strange diseases!
That's a great crow!Video from today
Great job, Noah!Happy update. The hen is out of the splint. The wing hangs a bit lower than the other, but that was expected. View attachment 3377090
Second one from the right.
Wow, so cozy and nice. I feel like my home is not this nice.Porch project done
I moved the ladder over a bit so big ladies can more easily get by it on the closer side. I didn't hook the ladder behind the 2x2, it got too complicated for me to find the right hole distance and keep the ladder as snug against the surface as possible. It would have meant cutting a wedge in the plywood too. The welding corners keep the tube away a bit already. Anyway as Bob pointed out, for the weight this should be fine unless I'm going to roost on it! @bgmathteach the S-Biners are not in stock yet.

It was funny because I thought I had an abscess in the tooth, but the dentist - as soon as he said 'I think it might be a virus of some sort' - well I knew what it was! I sat bolt up in the chair and said - I know what it is - it's Shingles... And he just shrugged and said 'go so your Dr'.That sounds awful. I'm so sorry that happened to you.![]()

Go Girl! Good going! I bet she will be a good BroodyHattie’s Weight
Hattie weighed in today at 2.81 kg, 6. lbs. While this seems down for her it is actually normal for her to which around 6 lbs at this time of the year. She tops out at her maximum weight of just over 7 lbs in July every year and then between molting and the lack of daylight for eating she bottoms out in January at just over 6 lbs. She follows the same cycle every year.
It is not easy being dual purpose.
Here she is tonight trying to maintain her physique in after hours eating.
In a comforting note, when I took Hattie back out after her weigh in, as I was placing her back on the ground, Lady Featherington attacked me so I would let Hattie go. She came at me full chest out head high to peck me. Fortunately i was prepared to let Hattie go and was uninjured. They have really gelled as a tribe.![]()
