And Betty! I like that I can see her top mop shape as she moves around. It's like a flower! With petals all fanning out.I forgot to add the video of her stretching!

I like both but I was totally admiring Eli's snakeskin boot legs in the picture of her sunning herself. There seems to be a subgroup of enablers emerging here!
I think part of the reason I am not in favor of feathered legs is that I really like the look of the snakeskin boots. With Bella I was besotted with her black snakeskin boots and both Babs and Eli have a similar style in green. I can't imagine it being better than that!

Or some 1/2 x 1" strapping to hold the sheet, and screw it into place. Once they figure out the roosting you can easily unscrew the strapping and remove the sheets.Maybe use roofing tacks with washers. They hold pretty good. 1 inch or longer roofing tacks won't pull out easily.
There is no doubt of that. She wasn't even 1 year old. We had such a short time together. It's harsh but at the time I was angry and scared. A weasel could have killed them all. Also because Aurora was her opposite. I will never be able to touch Aurora with her permission. I lost the one chicken who really liked me. It still feels unfair. Not that I am wishing that death on Aurora by any means.
I feel guilty because I was sick in bed and did not go out to put them to bed like I should have. So sick I wound up needing an IV but I still should have gone out and got her into the coop. She would still be with us if I had.
So no. I will never forget 1/24.
Why do you know everything about breeds? This is a genuine question. You are absolutely correct on the blue egg gene.
@ManueB The Auracana is also a tailless bird which seems to go hand in hand with a high chick in egg mortality rate. The Ameraucana was developed to try to keep the blue egg while changing the mortality rate. Australia also has Auracana chickens. From what I've seen of those, they have wide muffs or ear tufts. What some of the other differences are, I'm not sure. @LozzyR may be able to help with the Australian breeding.
That is plan B I thinkOr some 1/2 x 1" strapping to hold the sheet, and screw it into place. Once they figure out the roosting you can easily unscrew the strapping and remove the sheets.
That is silly. The sheets should be high enough they can't just reach up and pull tacks out. Or use tacks you need to hammer in.I am really worried about tacking stuff up in case they pull the tacks out.
