We got the cold beginning of last week. School had delayed start. Last night only dropped to 31F.

Its been cold here only 41 today and dropped to 21 last night and then tonights cold but warmer tomorrow and rest of the week.

So as far as sexing the chicks by spots and feet it looks like 5 hens and 2 roos. And one of them is very loud so definitely a lil roo lol. All the chickens are tucked away in bed for the night. I do check on the chicks every hour because I'm a paranoid chicken mama. Bought some electrolytes and starter food for them.

And sorry my first reaction was so harsh. It makes me mad that eggs are a commodity with no regard whatsoever for the living beings who lay them.

It’s still an interesting article and I wonder if hens in Canada have any better living conditions than here in the U.S.
