Have been reading that they should have low roosts due to their weight / size. How high are yours? I am going to lower mine for the Silkies anyways to about 2.5' and put a high roost up for those that can fly really well. But I want to keep the Silkies down low.

I went out in the dark to check on the chooks. I found Jaffar was not on his perch, so he’s perched on my shoulder now. Safely inside my house.

I know how it feels, from hitting poor animals that run onto the road in front of our cars. Maybe mention it to the runway people for the future?

I just read the description of them. Gentle giants. They are huge! Hens are 10lb!

Don’t worry, he sleeps with me all the time. He’s well potty trained and he’s adjustable to crow as I set him to. Usually at 05:30 when I’m ready to awake. (Sometimes he just sleeps in though) But I don’t mind. He’s a very good rooster
