I'm planning on just incubating my at home eggs. So Pastel will be the father, and then Bolt, BBQ, and Splotch will be the mommas. I'm not planning on any pure bred chicks. My instructor has done so much, so I'm just giving them to her.

I have heard very good thing about Bielefelder's. They are good dual purpose birds, and a very calm and gentle. Even broodies and roos. Now, that's just with research, as I sadly do not have any currently.

I'm getting some in about 93 days! One thing I know for sure, they will be cute chicks!

It is a good spot, until in the middle of the night that heated roost drops out from under you to take his 2 hour flat out nap. If one manages to stay on for that, then there is the customary roll before he stands back up. That will most definitely lead to a squished in the middle of the night chicken.

Ya.... not a good thing!

Thankfully my chickies have not decided that Truly is a nice place to roost - not sure if she would kill herself from being spooked or not - but why take the chance? I am just glad no one tries out a horse for themselves

Exciting!! Males are a lighter color with a white spot on their head. Females are a dark brown with black highlights!!
