They are on my potential wish list for genetics to add here too. I love that so many of the western Rustics seem to be very similar… at least a few generations later like little Mr Scarface, and ChunkI am really liking the Bielefelder (and not only because they are auto-sexing), they are a dual purpose bird and in the future if I decide to get a Roo then I will get my BIL to send the cockerels for freezer camp.
Thank you!!Beautiful ponies and horses!
I have heard very good thing about Bielefelder's. They are good dual purpose birds, and a very calm and gentle. Even broodies and roos. Eli has been in and out of the nest boxes all week but mainly as Babs’s bodyguard. I guess she decided to try it out for herself. She created a deep bowl in the bedding and laid this little number. It has white spots and is 46.6g = 1.6oz.
Congratulations Eli!
She seems quite surprised by what she produced.
Babs also laid today.
Bernie can’t see what all the fuss is about and thinks it is all a waste of time.
I have forgotten how I collect eggs and where I store them - I think I have a basket somewhere!

The two older and much bigger foxes look like they are much healthier.
Does anyone know if the mites that cause mange in foxes are an issue for chickens? Cats?
