For a time this afternoon it was just me, my rooster and "Evil Lives Here".

Yes he is sleeping on a pillow. Doesn't every good boy deserve to have a pillow to sleep on.

waiting on me to get the tv off the news and onto our favorite show.

I've saw this on facebook. People using disposable masks to make chicken diapers. Branch was my guinea pig. It fits him, it will not work for my larger girls.

That is hysterical and very clever. :lau:gig:lau

Really? I thought my parents raised leghorns. 🤔 I know they and their eggs were always white. But I don't remember floppy combs.

Of course, that was when dinosaurs ruled the earth.

Branch was inside for almost 2 hours with the funny looking makeshift diaper on. He walked around exploring a bit before we had tv time. The little man did not need the diaper, when I took it off and put him outside it was clean and empty. I know he is good when he is on a towel about not pooping but I was sure he would potty while walking around. Nope, my good boy is potty trained when he has inside privilege's.
Phyllis also does not poop in the house.

Aww, i’m so sorry about Lucky. You’re a great chicken mama making this as comfortable as can be, glad she has some friends near her ❤️

Oh I am so very sorry Michelle. Such a lovely lady. And from observation of mine, I would say the others definitely know.

You’re a wonderful chicken mama, you care for your girls deeply. I thinks it’s a good plan to put her with her friends ❤️

Thank you. When I put her on the shelf, she realized how close she was to her favorite roost, and surprised me and jumped up to it. However, she was very wobbly, and could not keep her balance. She kept starting to fall off, so I moved her and her heating pad over to the opening to the second level coop. The floor of the coop is at the same level as the roosts in the main coop. I put her in the doorway right beside Little Mill. She has a low watt heating pad under her and a light towel over her. I’d say there’s zero chance she’ll make it through the night. I’ll keep checking on her and I’ll probably take her out when she goes. I only worked a half day at work today and brought her out in the sunshine for a bit. She also heartily ate some scrambled egg. At least she got to experience those two little bits of comfort in the midst of her suffering.

Hi folks. Popping in. Sad to say Lucky is in her final days, if not hours. I could probably tube feed to keep her going a bit longer, but that would be cruel and prolong suffering.

It seems the other chickens know. Here she is with Little Mill sitting vigil before I left today.

Oh no. I'm so sorry. :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

I do find it heart warming that they stand watch with each other. They really care for each other.
