@Ponypoor , you asked if i had any other chickens besides Japanese bantams, i have a black sex link and a Easter egger cross as of now
Thank you. Sorry I missed this one, too.Ha! The kids named them all after cookies or cookie ingredients.
Mine yell at me every single morning because you know the 16x8 coop is sooo squished.
Oh I am so sorry to hear this. I am glad to hear she has her flock close by.
Thatta boy!He hasn’t even seen the chicks yet and he’s already cheating on her with 4 other girls.![]()
Patsy's eggs faded dramatically as she aged. I believe I noticed it around 3.View attachment 3411972
Keep up the good work girls, 5 dozen ready to leave tonight. 2 dozen left yesterday evening. All are under a week old. As long as they keep selling like hotcakes I cannot be tempted to load up the incubator. I do find it odd though, the ones that look almost white, those are Butters eggs. She started back laying this week and until I caught her in the act I did not believe they were hers. She always in the past laid a light tan with occasional speckles. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that she will be 3 this spring with the sudden color change. Shell is just had hard as before so it is not due to lack of calcium.
My Marans never went broody. If I have to go with Plan Bunny, this will be her 5th brood and she is only 2 1/2 years old. If someone ever came up and told me Marans are not broody or good mother's I think I would die laughing.
What a video! But what if the other owl is a girl too and the eggs are not fertile? If she can't tell the gender at all.I’ll link it again here, I’ve never seen a broody owl before!
