So, turns out I was scammed. I am normally as suspicious as they come. However, this place had over 400 followers on FB hundreds of posts and pictures. Site said all the right things. No indication they were not what they appeared to be. I am absolutely mortified. But I am sharing it anyway because I hope as spring chick fever gets us and those close to us, don't forget to be on guard.

So no Brahma pics just disappointment on multiple levels. :(
So sorry to hear this! How horrible. I don’t understand how people can scam others with a good conscious. Again, i’m very sorry.. How disappointing.

Would you mind sharing the name so we don’t buy from there? If you haven’t already.

I have a chicken question. I have a 5 foot fence but theres dogs on the other side. The chooks can see them if they were out. I have no foxes just have to watch for hawks. Can the chickens get over the fence or will they?
They could. Whether they would or not depends upon their motivation. Unless they're trying to escape something (like hormonal idiots), they're unlikely to go over the fence, just up to perch on it.

I like rocks! We actually collected so many, we made a firepit.
Can’t really make a fire pit out of my Rocks. I only have five (Maybe make a pillow) 6C5AFAC0-4DC1-4D90-93DD-47C18E373DE5.jpeg

What a video! But what if the other owl is a girl too and the eggs are not fertile? If she can't tell the gender at all.

I loved the owl video, then went and found more from the same name, fantastic.owls, then went to a Facebook page that seemed to be connected- same name - that’s selling owls. Uh oh. Didn’t like the sound of that. I thought this was all from a rehab or sanctuary. @LozzyR do you know if these are or aren’t the same?

Anyway that got my antennae up because in New York USA most wild animals can’t be owned as pets, and the state wildlife agencies oversee rehab, sanctuary, zoo establishments. I found another web site with each US states’ owl laws on pet ownership. This Facebook page -that may or may not be connected to the particular broody owl Instagram video we’re talking about (several videos looked like they were filmed in the same location - and maybe they were by the same entity as the broody owl video) was listing San Diego California USA as the business location, and the phone number was a Colorado USA area code, and the email was a personal gmail account. The business started the FB page in the Fall of 2022. Anyway both states do not allow owls as pets.

Kind of wish I hadn’t investigated. :(

I’m not sure yet, it’s possible it’s the youngest so i will see shortly, but i might have a dwarf chick. Hopefully it’s not a failure to thrive because it’s not really eating much and stays under mom.
Do you have an incubator/brooder you can put it and a sibling in for a day or two till it catches up? I would hate to split them all up, but if there is a chance it's just the youngest and needs time to catch up maybe giving it 24hrs might make a world of difference..?
