Thanks for the tip. I have seen a few of them pecking at it, or at the calcium disk and bell on the bottom. There are also a few playing with the mirror on occasion. One of them grabbed a bell that is dangling from it. When she couldn’t get it to pull loose and let go it scared the crap out of her when to started spinning and jingling.@TX Chick Noob :
If they don't take to the xylophone right away, mix a bit of scratch feed with a bit of peanut butter and smear on the keys - that gets them interested right quick!
Actually, this isn’t entirely true. The Black Vulture will eat live animals as well as carrion, and do attack newborn calves. So it is possible the farmers there have heard about vultures eating calves and lambs, and don’t realize it is only Black Vultures that do this.BUT the farmers seem to have a hate on for the Turkey Vultures thinking they kill calves and lambs (sometimes stupid people really irritate me! vultures clean up carrion!).
My Rooster Cogburn was a game rooster. I had him when I was a wee lad. He tortured my youngest brother. Chased him all over the yard. Other than that he was a great rooster.Well he is quite a looker. A lot seem to be bantams. This one is regular size.
