I hope you weren't insulted. I just found it so funny that you asked about the birds in the same post where you called Grackle by name.To be fair, I have always heard of these birds referred to as cowbirds around here. Plus as it was pointed out I had help naming her.
Cowbirds are used around here too. It's a semi-official nickname. To be fair, I have always heard of these birds referred to as cowbirds around here. Plus as it was pointed out I had help naming her.
Nope not insulted. I knew I should have known their name. I have a basic knowledge of bird species but I am not a avid bird watcher. I have favorites I can pick out. In general I can pick out wrens, but we have several different types. I clump them all together as a wren. Same with the chickadee's, besides black capped, all are chickadees. There are at least 3 different species of hummingbirds that frequent the mimosa's, 1 for sure is the ruby throated, the rest, they are never still long enough to even try to differentiate.I hope you weren't insulted. I just found it so funny that you asked about the birds in the same post where you called Grackle by name.
My hubby is like "no more animals!!" lol Now I have 15 eggs in the incubator 24 chickens and 5 dogs. I want a goat! lolSomehow, given the # of dogs you have, and, it seems, you're wife's temperament, I suspect that you aren't completely surprised!![]()
Sounds like me!I just roll with the punches. As she is quick to point out that she does most of the daily work around here. I do love our variety of chickens and eggs. And all our dogs are sweethearts. I was doing my annual service on our riding mower yesterday. It was a challenge changing the belt and blades with a half dozen dogs trying to lick my face![]()
Goats are escape artists, get a horse instead. Actually, get a mini horse and call it your 6th dog.My hubby is like "no more animals!!" lol Now I have 15 eggs in the incubator 24 chickens and 5 dogs. I want a goat! lol

I think it is them that has a hen of the month and you get a little paper like a trading card with a photo and blurb in each carton. If you go to their website and scan the carton of their eggs you bought it will tell you what farm they came from. It's a new way of being in touch with where your food comes from. I'm going to investigate them more.
