One might say that you are putting it off to see if things will settle and he can stay.Well, I got sidetracked today. I cleaned the coop, added a 2nd roost to the coop and then rode Russ. No time to contact my family member about Twig. I am dragging my feet, hoping for a shift in flock dynamics. I really really want to keep him. Twig is a good rooster. He is not a lap chicken, and prefers not to be handled. I can and do handle him if I catch him hopping up to the roost. He will immediately settle down while I hold him for a few minutes and then place him on up. He will eat out of your hand if the other boys are not around. He has never once to date had a stupid moment where he thought to charge. Bubba did that a time or two from behind. I always heard him coming and turned around quickly and started walking towards him which stopped him in his tracks. If he has a downfall right now, besides being a wimp, it is he is just a tad overzealous with some of the hens. That is all due to his age, inexperience and hormones so I know he will settle down with that in time.
I say if there is any possibility that he, or his ladies will be injured (bad barn dog...) then sending to a safer location might be a better option. You can always, also, build a run to keep them in... ?

A perfect poop and it wasn’t even on my shoe. I am feeling more relaxed about Eli now, though Lord knows what that previous icky thing was!
