Well as Eli laid her egg, I can relax a little.
It is Friday so here are some fluffy butts from Bernie and Babs (try saying that fast after celebrating St Patrick’s Day).

Edited to add: are there any tricks to photographing the green sheen on black chickens? In real life she was glowing neon green and in the picture it is green but sort of drab green. I can’t seem to catch it properly in a photo.

I was wondering what magic photography one can do to get that wonderful colouring!

Well the drs office called said they cant do much there and want me to go to the ER so Im going in the morning when its not busy. They said they could do tests stat and they could figure out whats wrong. And they can give me IV fluids.

You are correct and I posted a correction. I think my brain had taken a short vacation.
Well I hope it was only a short vacation as I may need it back!

Poor girls. It is so hard. Eli laid her egg this morning (though there may be another to come as she skipped a few days). I haven't collected it yet but on the camera it looks large relative to Bernie's egg and the ceramic egg but not huge.
She is looking OK but when I go out to give her a bit of beef as a reward I will check for prolapse.

From what you described, I think she will stabilize and eventually (perhaps already) be OK. It sounds like it was that double yoke that gave her problem. But it is impressive that she got them out! Rooting for Eli and sending positive thoughts for her.

I quickly skimmed the last 9 pages to find out Eli is OK.

From what you described, I think she will stabilize and eventually (perhaps already) be OK. It sounds like it was that double yoke that gave her problem. But it is impressive that she got them out! Rooting for Eli and sending positive thoughts for her.

I do hope so.
Today's egg was 2.25 ounces which is still too big for a little chicken her size. I am hoping she doesn't still have one in there waiting to come out.
