Quite cold today here, off on with flurries. I went out to throw the bucket heater back in their waterer and in they came to roost for the night. I don’t usually get to witness the roosting process. Peanut got pecked but that was it maybe it’s to chilly for any roosting antics but overall a fairly pretty peaceful tonight.

It's actually pretty safe if one decides to brood there...until we use the rest of the wood....and it's close to the house so I can keep an eye on whomever decides to brood there. I can even slide a 2x4 into it as a ramp for babies to get out if need be. Problem if the eggs explode.

Hmmmm yes I see your dilemma - but what is the risk of that actually happening? Have you ever had an exploding egg?? Just curious as I hear of this as a possibility but have not heard log anyone actually dealing with that …
