Yes she is hilarious, and big worry as she does stuff that freaks me out, she will be 76 on Monday and is planning on driving up to Orillia to the Casino that is over an hr away, it’s stilll winter here and up there it snow squalls at the drop of a hat! But like she said, if it snows she willl check into the resort.

And she has those chickens all spoilt rotten, they see her and they go running as they know she has some lovely treats for them - rice mashed potatoes corn meat finish pasta Kraft dinner…. I had to tell her to lay off the treats! But I guess it won’t hurt - as I said it’s still really cold here so extra calories will keep them warm.
Like mother like daughter with the driving through snow storms. At least they haven’t actually closed the roads to the casino!

I had children and the liquid was so much easier to give them than a pill. I've never forgotten about it. If course I don't have any in the house right now. I do believe I will get some and add it to the kit.
There is children's liquid ibuprofen, too. I have that now in my chicken first aid kit, once there was the posts with dosing and that it was okay. I also have aspirin (low dose) in there, too. BUT: I was afraid to use the aspirin on crop girl after the surgery.

I like the idea of acetaminophen as an option for some injuries when bleeding may be a concern. Will have to look up dosing!

I’m so sorry about Dixie. I have had some die from extensive ovarian cancer that progressed all through a bunch of other organs. Two were confirmed by necropsy at UC Davis, and two are suspected based on her symptoms. The cancer rates in these hens is crazy.
@micstrachan 4 hens, out of how many? That sounds like a REALLY high ratio:eek:, unless I'm mistaken about the total # of hens you have owned.:hit

This is so not right!

I am tempted to take her out in the paddocks in my truck and get her used to driving 4x4 her truck is only 2 wheel drive and just summer tires.

I would feel more comfortable if she knew how to drive my truck with aggressive tread snow/mud tires and 4 wheel drive. Of course if she got the bug to drive my truck she will be out in the pits 4x4’ing hahaha!!

Roads in to our casinos are closed due to flooding
Wow crazy weather, it is just not warming up here anytime soon. Planting will be delayed here 😳 the farmers won’t be happy.

At any rate she will be likely coming to my place.
