Awwww 🄰 yea my hens will do that also I think it’s the same sound they make when ā€œtalkingā€ to their eggs just before they hatch, and talking to the chicks. Such a lovely sound ā¤ļø

Have a safe journey šŸ’•

Yes. Eli makes that noise. I am not sure about Bernie or Babs.
That is a marathon trip. It reminds me not to complain about my flight to LA this evening!

I hope you have a wondaful visit with your folks!
Good to know. I really love this kind of cute chirping sound.

Have a smooth trip to LA @RoyalChick

Thanks all. My trip starts on June 5th.

The tree service did a fantastic job with the trees but it was wet when they were here so they rutted up the pasture a bit. Where's the spoiled brat teens looking for some honest work?View attachment 3452903View attachment 3452908work tax: leader of the rascals View attachment 3452910
Oh ruts are the worst! Do you have access to a hoe or front end loader? You can back blade them to level them out.

Or do like I do and drive the truck over them 20 or 30 times when it rains to flatten them šŸ˜† of course now I have a niece who has access to that equipment so I can just call her to come over here on a weekend 🄰

Dreaming of a new front-end loader tax

Penelope has the right idea 😊 I thought she was dead there at one point!

And, I need to finish the brooder area, I want to put chicken wire on all the open areas so nothing can crawl up into the stall/brooder and make the doors safe.
I would use hardware mesh instead of chicken wire. Smaller mink/weasels can fit through chicken wire holes, and other animals CAN bite through the thin chicken wire. Just thinking it will be a lot of work to only have an issue and then have to go back and do it again with more secure wire.

What a handsome young dude! Hope he is good to the ladies! (How old - is he not quite at the 'idiot teen' stage? Regardless, gosh is he handsome!

he's young and in the middle of the idiot stage but so far he's more behaved than bantam roosters we have had.
