Squeak is hitting that phase. I had to knock him off one of the Ducks… I mean really, stick to your own species at least!
at least that mating won't really do any damage. The reverse could seriously hurt someone, though!

I will need to know because I was going to have her hatch some polish because I figure they would be easier to rehome.I cannot form coherent thoughts right now!
Well, hence the Hattie pullet or twoWell it is true that who could resist little Hatties? I mean seriously that would be adorable. But, but, but..... I think a little Hattie might struggle to keep up with the zippy flying chickens I have now. Even Bernie for all her bulk (note to self I MUST get brave enough to weigh Bernie) uses her long gams to sprint rapidly all around and, I hate to say, she also has a bit of a flying thing going on. Not to the rafters but she is the one that flew over the fence!
I will need to know because I was going to have her hatch some polish because I figure they would be easier to rehome.
I am getting a very strong impression that you two are in cahoots and think I need more chickens.Well, hence the Hattie pullet or two![]()
Not yet and there is no guarantee that she will go broody but she has the last 3 years.I am getting a very strong impression that you two are in cahoots and think I need more chickens.
Is Phyllis even broody?!
It’s satellite tv here…..You need to change the channel on the flat screen in the laying boxes once in a while. The hens might stay in there longer.![]()
There would be more colourful language involvedShakespeare, Shakespeare, where for art though, Shakespeare?
I can just see the neighbor now (whispering into the phone) "911, yes? Oh, good, you need to dispatch an ambulance to XX newfundland terrace....make sure you bring a white straight jacket, too. My neighbor has really lost it this time!"
they want privacy! And go brood privatelyI think my Princesses are using the ceramic egg as a signaling device.
Somehow it has now moved to the lower level nest boxes. And so they have all switched to laying there (inconveniently out of the reach of my spy-cam!).

my chicks are arriving 13/14/15th, I need at least two broody Ol bats, 3 would be perfect! They do seem to come in waves like it is contagious.
hopefully she will go broody soon! I want to see Bob with babiesI am getting a very strong impression that you two are in cahoots and think I need more chickens.

Once you leave the eggs, DONT MESS WITH THEM! Date new eggs there and leave be another day.I have been leaving an egg or two in the nest at night and during the day, Marty can barely cover three eggs so I have been leaving 2, Fluffy likely can cover 4 ok.
Tonight I will put 3 eggs for Marty and 4 for Fluffy, I have been giving Misty an egg at night she was a good broody last year and if she went broody I bet she could cover 6 easily. She has been sleeping in a nest box at night. I will give her 3 eggs also.
You do realize that on hatchery websites, Lavender orpingtons are frequently higher priced and/or marked as sold out for the season. I don't think you'd have any problem rehoming those either.I will need to know because I was going to have her hatch some polish because I figure they would be easier to rehome.
