Mugshot Monday
I came out in search of mugshots but made the mistake of giving them the rest of the leftovers from the restaurant lunch.
So this is the best I got.
Eli is more assertive at grabbing food (sometimes out of Bernie’s beak) but then she insists on stopping to kill it and often loses her prize.
Babs on the other hand is more diffident in grabbing, but once she has it she runs like fury and swallows whole on the go. Kind of a drive-thru model.
Steak, eggs, salami, bacon and bread was enjoyed by all. They are not so keen on black olives.
Eli wore green to the feast.

I tried to edit 141,619, but it created a whole new entry (141,620). OK well I am going to go do some work, finish that outdoor run. Maybe I will get fed up later on and order StarLink teeheehee.

Everyone have a lovely day!

Good thought, or crochet cotton ties with the "knot" getting tucked into the tube. Need to hit the fabric store as I don't have any canvas at the moment either.
Cotton fabric will work, too. Just 2 sided. My neighbor made some last year and gave me some for mother's day. Work great - except for when it rains, and after 2nd day when said hen learned to get out of it in less than 20 min. flat.

Honestly, I think she made them a bit small for my lot, which are nearly all dual purpose. She has a lot more 'egg-layer' versus dual purpose breed. I suspect if they were larger and fit more like a full saddle, they would have stayed on better. :idunno:idunno

I really should try them again, a few of the girls are being worn thin by the over arborous boys. (at a min., they have 9 per pair or roos (1 group) 2 with 11 per pair, and then 60+ for 5 boys, so 12 each...and STILL they are being 'run ragged' by the boys. And Shad says 1-2 boys for 3-4 girls. Clearly there is less 'protecting' and 'escorting' done in our well fed and semi-protected tribes!!!!

Does anyone know what kind of tree this is. I absolutely adore it, its so gorgeous but I am not good at iding trees or plants.

Did you live at this place last year? if so, were there ANY fruits? even small, small ones? How many petals per flower? 4 or 5? both common...but...
Possibilities:
flowering redbud
flowering cherry,
crabapple,
flowering plum

Note, some of the above, though 'fruit trees', have been bred to be ornamental and have either tiny, tiny fruits, or none.

I am quite sure there are other possibilities, too.

make the saddle part as usual, including the 'sleeve' for the elastic, but replace elastic with stitched bias tape OR a stitched 'tube' of fabric, and put a couple of snaps on it for adjustment. If you make the 'sleeve' wide enough on the saddle, might be able to get snaps to fall into sleeve area when centered.

????????????????????????????????
I can't believe I have to pay SHRA tax for this one...

I have lived here for 5 years and no I have never seem any fruit of any kind. The app RC mentioned says it is a Japanese crabapple but never have I seen any tiny apples. I will keep a close eye on it this year as Ill admit my attention paid to it wanes after the blooms are gone. 😂 Thank you for taking the time to post the possibilities. ❤️
