Anyone else have a socially awkward chicken? We got this little lady recently and she didn’t know how to interact with other chickens, wouldn’t even eat snacks like spinach and once spent 6 hours facing a wall. After a week of her sitting in a corner all day, I ended up placing her into a smaller cage as she was getting bullied by my other silkies. It’s helped a lot and she’s getting less shy now
Looks like she can't see, I regularly trim back my silkies head feathers so they can see. Same with my polish Roo.

Curly needs a trim

Leghorns - @BeefQuesoritto seems to be having a problem with them flying over a 4’ fence with no effort at all!

Since you’ve had a lot of experience with their awesome flying capabilities thought you might have some suggestions 💕
Are there photos of the setup?

Poor little outcast. :(

My little Rhode Island Red is a misfit in the tribe. She’s not been accepted by the rest of the group and she fights for everything she can get. (And gets picked on a lot) she’s alone because her sister died suddenly months ago :(

Ya darn photos didn’t load and then I replied to Big Roo - I changed to the 5g network here so here is hoping it works better! I will see if I can post the photos.

everyone looks so very happy 😊
Is the 5g working better? I've heard that 5g needs more towers because it can't go as far as 4g, but they may give you better signal. Not sure how close you are to the cell tower.

Broody Brownie:

Went put to close the pop door tonight and collect eggs. A few of the girls came out into the run, bawking an odd sounding bawk. It was late for them to not be roosted already. So I left the door opened and hustled into the coop. All birds were accounted and seemed well but no Brownie.

Looked into the nest boxes and there she is all settled in flat as a pancake sitting on a pile of eggs in everyone’s favorite nesting box. Apparently, this caused a roosting dilemma seeing as how Brownie is Queen of our coop.

I braved the broody shriek and got the eggs out from under her and left the fake ones. She miraculously refrained from pecking me.

Went back out about half hr later and she appears to be settled in the box for the evening sitting on two fake eggs.

I set the Orpington eggs on the 5th. If she sticks it out for a few days, I am pondering giving her a few of the eggs or chicks when they hatch.

Parmesan's foot is all better now. However, because of high wind today, the door opened and the chickens accidentally went outside! Naughty chickens! Don't they know that just because the window is opened doesn't mean they should escape?! You are going to mess up the grass we grew, Parmesan!

I know where your hiding spot is Grandma. You must love to hide behind the AC vent.
