I won't go to bed unless I check my chickens. Usually they're awake. I think they believe that Big Rooster is going to give them a late night snack.

I do evening feed with horses, then I haul Misty off the door top, and Whiskers off the shavings pile.

Make sure all chooks are secured for the night and close up for the night.

Not here either! I wish Lhicken would go broody. But she is molting.. not sure that would be best for her health. But I do wish Tomatilla could go broody!

My siblings put the chickens away, but I have my doubts sometimes, so I always double check. I'm sure the chickens think I'm nuts.

It was real calm over here, and all of a sudden this shade thing that we have flies on top of the chicken coop, and the trees look like they're going to break, and then the wind disappears. And, of course, the chooks don't care. Even though there's all this ruckus, their prefab coop got partially separated, and the perch had fallen, one of them was just taking a dust bath.

I really want Silkies. How smart are they?
The wind almost blew Agathae over once. She is a Cream Legbar and the smallest chicken we have. @BY Bob should get one to satisfy his colored egg needs. They lay guaranteed blue eggs.
