Wow! I have bookmarked all the IR posts and articles and will look at them all in a day or so.
I came back from my trip and became really sick - temperature of 103F (or 39.4C, which sounds so much less scary!).
I am tentatively going to try sipping some soup and then going back to bed.
The feline nurses have been working round the clock - by which I mean they take turns on which one will sleep on my head, my shoulders and my knees. With support like that I am bound to feel better soon!
The kitties will have you back to normal in no time! ❤️‍🩹 feel better RC!

A couple of random photos:
Broody Brownie: (seems she is quite serious about sitting, I managed to get her to agree to brood in this which is quite a bit lower to the ground and I can move it and her if need be, vs pulling her out of the nest boxes attached to the wall.)

A wifi booster will help to boost a signal in an area of your home/business that has a weak signal. They are good if they are not too far from the router.

A wireless bridge is like an Ethernet cable. Since it’s about 300’ or more to my barn it’s too far for me to lay cable in a cost effective manner. The bridge has a transmitter and receiver component; the transmitter goes at the house and send the signal to the barn where I have my receiver. It transmits 2-way signal traffic.

This is how I can sit in my office in the barn and have internet, and my cameras working. And how when I am 4,000km away working I can spy on the chooks, horses and the house 😊

This is the Reolink app - my chooks are waiting for me! (Notice my signal strength, I am in the area of the house where my booster is, without the booster here I would have no signal)

a wifi booster is all I need to boost the signal a bit further. I dont see spending that kind of money on a bridge when a booster will work just fine.

Oh, no! Probably too much stress, not enough sleep in the past few weeks made you susceptible - then all the time changes and exposure to slightly different variants of whatever than you usually are around at home.

Hope you feel better soon. :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

Did you explain to your feline nurses that, at the moment, you are warm enough and don't need their 'hot pads' at the moment???

I haven't caught up yet - heading back to bed shortly after I visit with the Princesses, but it looks like the crack team of FBA researchers are coming to some conclusions on IR and chicken eyesight.
One question I have about the cameras is whether there is a difference between the wavelength they use for motion detection vs for recording.
I don't really understand how it works, but unless the camera is off fully I believe it has motion detection capability and filming capability.
So my cameras I can have the following settings:
- Off. In this case it is not emitting anything
- View Live. This is when I choose to turn it on to see what is going on. It isn't detecting motion it is just viewing whatever is or is not happening
- Record if triggered by motion. It is this third one that I am curious about - the sensor for motion must be emitting something and then if triggered the camera comes on. Are those different types of IR or the same?
Sorry - my brain is not at its clearest - hopefully you get what I am asking.
Motion sensors are like flashlights sending out a beam of light but with motion-detecting infrared energy waves instead of light waves. Just like a light is brighter closer to the bulb, the infrared radiation is denser nearer to the device and it spreads out farther away.Mar 7, 2023

Not a research site, but I would imagine this si somewhat 'common knowledge' in the industry.

Good morning everyone. Chick watch is officially underway as of this morning as we are on day 19. I listened to the eggs and no internal pips just yet. Goose is off and judging by the way she is furiously eating and dust bathing, I do not expect her off again until they hatch. I've also had Rosie's best friend over for the last 2 days. She is discussing her chickens and how good of a daddy the Blueberry brother she took 2 years ago is. I've saw pictures of Pepper, he is a Drumstick x Henrietta son and even though he is a mix he looks just like a Blue Copper Marans rooster would. Well, Mallory is plotting, and plotting in ways that could get me choked by her daddy but I love the way her brain works. Every time she visits she comes home with a dozen or two eggs as their hens have not picked up laying all that well. She wants to bring home some to give to a broody hen when she has one to hatch. Her dad has several game hens, there is always a broody around in the spring and summer. She wants some silkie eggs and a couple of my other girls eggs. I told her I would think about it. When her dad picked her up this morning I informed him of her plans and he laughed and said if she wanted to she could. He also said he had a hen that he thought would be broody soon. I guess I will be dating chiquita's eggs now and saving them up and when the time is right he is bringing her up to visit so she can bring home some "eating" eggs.

Transcript of this morning's conversation with Lety:

Lety: How many of the young turkeys do you want to keep?

My inside thought is like I have a choice?

Me: I'd rather not keep any because that requires I build another coop.

Lety: ok so I'm keeping them all until they are big enought to tell apart. I am keeping a dark male and a white hen.

Me: so why bother asking me at all? 🤣
:th:th
Haven't you learned yet when a question is really a rhetorical one - as in a 'polite way' of bringing up the subject, and your actual answer is not needed, but you will be informed of the response????????🙄🙄🙄

Gertie: Hey, Matilda - what's that?
Matilda: I don't know, Gertie, but it's moving - lets kill it!
Gertie: Me first!
Gertie: Oh, you little bugger, that was mine! I saw it first.
Matilda: He who hesitates is lost. tee hee hee
P.S. Thanks for pointing out the tastey worm!:D

Actually I like the warm. With the fever weirdly I feel really cold. Like shivering cold.

Shivering will raise your temperature even more so don't put any more blankets on.

Did you take Tylenol ? If not then you need to, it will help with aches and pains, and keep your temperature in check.
