I live for your chick videos. Makes me wanna take mine outside lol. But then they would run away from me with my luck and I cant run right now.
They associate the box with safety and home, they do run off but only for a few seconds then run back to the box.

If there is anything scary they run to me as I am mama hen. I sit on my lawn chair and they run and hide under the chair.

They are adorable and growing so fast. You know, in about another week if Henny Penny is still tolerant of them maybe she could be housed with them for periods of time. There is a lot she could teach them.
I was thinking that.

If I house the co-broodies and her in the summer house, and put them in there also they can all grow up together.

I don’t want to share in Jaffar’s personal life, (but he’s doing the deed all wrong) :barnie
If you watched Branch when he tries, you would swear he has never did it right. Twig proves that theory all wrong, he is capable. I will say about 75% of the time he does miss. Mostly because he tries to go after hens to big for his size. But, all it takes is 1 time to be successful and the hen can store the goods for 2 weeks.

It seems hotter outside than it really is:

I bet there is!
Okay. Here it is...
When I got the chickens (remember, I hadn't raised them as a kid), I looked and said, oh, they are harmless. Plus, they look cute. So I got them, packed them in boxes, drove home, then unloaded them. It was now that trouble began. I wanted to spend some time with the 8 pullets that I got, so I watched them walk around in their coop.

But the dark brown hen, (whom I later named Bananas) kept following me around. I was actually AFRAID of the hens! And Bananas kept following me around. So I was like, You're bananas, Bananas. I am naming you Bananas.

So then I went to pet a white hen. She pecked me. That was what I was afraid of, and Bananas had a loooong beak. The only one I really trusted was Lhicken.
The white hen was, of course, Rosilia. She pecks me on the roost a lot.

So I thought all the hens were nuts so I named one Nuts, one Up The Wall, then there was Bananas.

I am actually ashamed of being afraid of these harmless cute birdies (Though the cats are rightfully afraid of them... They always get pecked...).

Hades and Zeus will show him how its done. chicka chicka bow wow
Hey you know who's a klutz? Mr Nekbother, he is sooo clumsy. Who has beaten his record? Mr Sam the klutz. Early one morning I knocked him off the roost(he tends to stay on there all morning long) and shoved him outside. He was crowing as I shoved him out. He fell off the ramp! He literally marched out the chute and went "BKAW!" As he fell. Nice wakeup surprise!
