Tina isn't limping today it looks like the milk thistle has helped
I had the calcium tablets so gave her one 2 hours after the milk thistle and she ate breakfast the calcium given along with banana and celery leaves which should have the nutrients too absorb the calcium fingers 🤞

Here she is today

And Then There Were 6
I have tragic news everyone. We lost Betty today. While free ranging today she fell into the pool. I have no idea how or why. None of the chickens go anywhere near the pool and yet she fell in. Before Mrs BY Bob could get her out she passed away due to hypothermia. The water is still quite cold.

I buried her between the two Blueberry bushes that Hattie bought. I will post a tribute to her later this week but her is the last photo I ever took of her.

Yet another hen lost too soon. Mrs BY Bob is inconsolable. She blames herself of course and Betty was one of her special girls.

I myself feel as though I'm getting numb to the losses. I'm going to try and spend time with everyone who is left tomorrow morning. I need to try to reconnect with them.
I had ferrets for many years they live short lives by in large like chickens. After many losses over the years I also feel somewhat numb to it, its sad but removed somehow. The way I process grief shifted over time, I say this simply so you know your not alone.
I am so sorry to hear of the loss. My heart goes out to you and your lovely wife. Betty was a beautiful sweet girl who was loved deeply by you both. :hugs

I am so sorry @BY Bob. I know words can't comfort you in your sorrow, nor replace the lost, but both you and Mrs. BY Bob are in my thoughts and prayers

Oh sh!t sorry I had to swear - tell Mrs By Bob it is NOT her fault. It’s easy to blame one’s self but in reality it is just a sad accident. All animals are prone to getting into trouble, no matter how much you try to protect them they will find some way to get hurt.

I know what you mean by ‘getting numb’ I feel this is a protective measure for us, when Sally died with me so far away I was so disconnected from the whole situation it wasn’t until I got all the horses home it hit me.
