We're getting some kind of storm here. I wonder what the chooks will think later on when it hits.

Be careful heed all storm warnings (don’t be like me and turn off your phone warning system and miss a tornado warning), it’s been miserable here but as soon as the sun came out at around 4pm the chooks ran outside and proceeded to dig in the soggy leaves for bugs and such.

Oh sh!t sorry I had to swear - tell Mrs By Bob it is NOT her fault. It’s easy to blame one’s self but in reality it is just a sad accident. All animals are prone to getting into trouble, no matter how much you try to protect them they will find some way to get hurt.

I know what you mean by ‘getting numb’ I feel this is a protective measure for us, when Sally died with me so far away I was so disconnected from the whole situation it wasn’t until I got all the horses home it hit me.

It was a subdued evening here yesterday. Hattie and Sydney chose this spot to rest.

Tina isn't limping today it looks like the milk thistle has helped
I had the calcium tablets so gave her one 2 hours after the milk thistle and she ate breakfast the calcium given along with banana and celery leaves which should have the nutrients too absorb the calcium fingers

What a beautiful photo how lovely.

Over the years I think of all my pets I have lost some to old age some to tragedy, and I have learnt to enjoy the simple things and beauty of a moment in time. I know that there will be sadness but I have learnt to make the beautiful times stronger than the sad times. After all, they do live on in out memories.

Better to have them so you can laugh and smile

Such a lovely picture. They look so comfy and restful. Makes me want to join them (though I would never get up again unaided!).

Kren and Whiskey got into it again this morning. As you can see, Horus is circling to get in on it.

Hector teamed up with Whiskey and ended the whole thing. It looked like Whiskey was trying to defend a girl from Kren's attentions. Kren (in spite of his build being better suited to the climate) is looking tastier.

You can also see the work remaining from the clean out. Need to clean the water bucket and start the new bedding. Hopefully tonight. If not, then definitely tomorrow.

Also found Castor. He'd disappeared (again, usually visiting a lady cat). Heard meowing in the garage when getting the chicken feed this morning. He'd gotten himself locked in. (hadn't parked in it for a few days and he didn't make a sound yesterday). Definitely thirsty, but I think it's safe to say the mouse in there is no more. He's had water and is now working on breakfast outside. The chickens (who usually try staging a raid on his dish) have given him space to eat, audience free.
