I woke up thinking, maybe last night was a bad dream, but here we are, and still Betty is gone. I will be thinking about her all day long, unless something even worse happens to me today. Terrible thoughts aren’t always good. 🙁
I'm so sorry Alex. :hugs

Just popping in to express frustration. UPS have lost my overnight package with Eli’s blood sample.
:he
OMG - what a bunch of idiots! I never use UPS because I have had so many issues with them here. And Purolator. FedEx has been really reliable! And Amazon gets my stuff here usually ahead of time and I live in the boonies, if they can then what's the issue with UPS and Purolator?

They now owe you a million dollars. Maybe send a box of smelly chicken poop though them so they have to smell it.
Put on your smelliest barn clothes and boots full of horse and chicken poop (ok in your case just the chicken poop), stomp up to the counter (make sure you stomp hard enough for all that crud in the treads of your boots to come out in clumps - big smelly clumps), take off your gloves that smell like horse pee (or chicken cecal poop - ooo yummy), lay them on the counter next to the person you're going to roast (ooops talk to) and every so often pick up a glove and wave it in the air as if in dispair (mmmmm smelly) and proceed to tell them that it is extremely important to FIND that package.

(yep been there - it didn't get much results but it sure was fun watching their noses wrinkle up I still had to drive 45 to Stayner for the package they DROPPED off at the brewery there - WTH???!!)

I know I haven't talked much. You all pretty much know my situation. I may have forgot an update but what it basically comes down to is I will have gallbladder surgery if my colonoscopy comes back clear. The surgeon thinks I may have colitis and doesnt want to operate because it could cause complications. If I mispell anything its because i shake all the time now. Been sicker and sometimes the nausea pills dont work and I throw up anyways. The pain is pretty much constant now.
I dont spend a lot of time with the chooks because Im too sick and weak and dizzy. I also got diagnosed with vertigo. (Yay) I do get out there for snacks. They love leftovers.
Hubby has been feeding them in the morning.
Another reason I dont talk much is because people dont really talk to me on here and I dont know what to say or feel ignored
But thanks for all your blessings and prayers.
Not to worry I haven't been on here much lately either what with painting (I hate painting), and fighting mud (mud mud glorious mud).

Just drop in when you're feel up to it, and keep us updated on your chooks growing, etc.

Val, I listen to everything you say and I do interact with you. V many times I just don’t know what to say or how to express it. :hugs:idunno
Yea sometimes I dont know what to say or talk about. I will say I was looking at my chicken coop on the camera boy do I have noisy chooks.

I have seen the dark grey with the light head popping up to peck at some food, bit can't remember if I saw the splash one this morning. Will check later this afternoon.

Brownie:
I shut the girls out in the run this morning, so I could check on Brownie without the entire nosey flock barging in and disturbing her. Then I went around to the coop door.

Brownie got up when she heard me and flew at the tent door (she entirely has both food and water in with her), but clearly she wanted out! So I opened the tent door and she bolted out of the tent and right out of the coop door, I had left opened, to nibble some grass and poop ALOT 😂.

As a result, I stood there for the next 10 minutes or so worried she would decide not to go back to the eggs. She did go back but goodness it is hard to trust nature to do its thing.

While she was off the nest I visually inspected the eggs, one has a tiny dent in it which appears to be caused by Brownie perhaps stepping on it or maybe its an external pip idk?

Best news is that I am pretty sure I did hear a few tiny peeps and scratching type noises coming from the eggs.

Now, can I manage to not go check on her a zillion times today???

You have to be $#@÷*& kidding me.
I have filed a claim so may get my money back. But that doesn't compensate for the stress to poor Eli travelling to the vet and having her toenail cut to draw blood.
And of course it also doesn't compensate me for the anxiety and not having test results.
If it gets there in the next 48 hours they can still do the Marek's test I believe but not the Avian Leukosis test. We only have until end of day for the Avian Leukosis test to work.
I also need to decide what to do about the babies. I think I am going to move them into the Chicken Palace even without any test results.
If the package never shows up I have to decide whether to subject Eli to that stress again and if so, when. It could not be before next week because by Thursday it will be too late as the lab is closed at the weekend and I am out a lot of the day tomorrow.
Also want to be calm if I am going to attempt blood collection on my own.
Oh I am soooooooo mad!

Pigletine tax to calm myself down.
