Ok here is a photo of Mr P and his black feathers mixed into his light ones.I think if figured out the genetics on the Sophia babies. They will be black laced blue (or something close to)View attachment 3492364
So really dark edges to the adult feathers. If the lacing grows in like golden wyandottes, it will start with feather shafts then expand. Black feathers, then noticeable blue shaft, expanding as they grow.
First sip of coffee does interesting things to my brain.
Dear Aurora,
Hi, it is Peep and my fellow Marshmallow crew here. We caught our hooman mom busy tending to the new chicks and I made a break for it and snuck in her window. We want to know what is "Hooligans" and why is she saying it around us like it is a bad thing? We were not doing anything wrong, just testing out our wings. Yes we were using the neighbors chain link fence like it was a tight rope. Yes we also launched ourselves off it into the top of the tree when she spotted us and came to shoo us down. It was fun! We would have stayed in it longer except dad came around the corner and we did not want to get into trouble with him. Momma Chiquita has given up and now just threatens to tell our father when we have fun. Did you know we can now fly up to the top of the main big roost between the stalls from the ground? Half the other flock cannot do that, they have to use the stall boards. I think we can fly higher, I've been eyeing the roof. Our Hooman mom see this and dares us to do it saying we will get in trouble if she has to climb a ladder and chase us down. Uncle Dirt says do it, we are only young once. Also do you have any advice on how to catch a squirrel? We terrorize the birds and cats that come into the yard but the sneaky squirrel is smart. He jumps as good as we can fly. He stole some of our corn yesterday before we spotted him, the nerve. Our queen Butter says we are growing up and it is time to act like ladies. Acting like respectable ladies sounds boring, do we really have to? If you were our Queen you would not make us act like boring chickens would you? We all agree you would come up with fun games to play. How many Squirrels live at your house? Maybe if we had more then one to chase we could figure out how to catch them. Ooh gotta go, I hear our Hooman coming around the house, do not want to get caught on the computer and be called a hooligan again, I think.
Respectfully yours
Peep and the Marshmallows.

Beautiful trouble makers!Just giving you the benefit of my extensive knowledge on this topic.
I am in absolutely no doubt it my mind that they will be chickens. I think there is also a very high probability that they will be beautiful.
You're welcome.
rest and take time for yourself- hope the rain fillls up your pond!Had a 16 hour work day Wednesday and drove home yesterday morning and vegged out. Trying to catch up. I'll try to get pics of the son of Big Boy later day along with others. Dark n cloudy with predicted thunderstorms today so not sure about outside time for the chooks.
Yes my allergies are just plaguing me lately. I will try better laterI think you should call those three little the 'Three Musketeers'!
I hate to say this, but I think Rose was right. It wasn't up to your usual standards. Maybe you need a bit more practice?? (of course, Rose will probably NOT be amused with my suggestion)
Biology and Geography were my strong points, it wasn’t until later I figured out I was actually half decent in math.22 more days left in the school year and as of last night Rosie is already plotting next years schedule. There was a mix up in communication at the beginning of the year when it was implied she did not have to take Algebra 2. Nope, she does, she was asked yesterday by her Honors Geometry teacher how she felt about Honors Algebra 2. Rosie is fine with it, and it is a good thing as her teacher told her if she opted out she would have been disappointed in her. It is so good to have other people besides myself pushing her and expecting more. With me, I am just her mom what do I know. It apparently means more and gets through to her if it is her teachers pushing. She also was one of 10 freshmen this year who were allowed into Honors Geometry which shocked her teacher. Until this year Freshmen were not allowed to take even simple geometry until they had both Algebra 1 and 2 completed. Her junior year is already slotted for Trigonometry. She wanted to take it next year but she is not able to. She has already inquired and found out that as a sophomore she is eligible to take the forensics class so that one is set in stone. She can double up on science next year and plans to. She is discussing matters with her Physical Science teacher this week about what he recommends as her 2nd science class. She is debating between Chemistry and Zoology. She has loved it when they have touched base on chemistry the last 3 years but she found out they do dissection's in Zoology. She told me whichever one she does not take next year she will take the following year. History she is still debating, Kentucky studies or US History, leaning towards US History. Taking US History opens up European History for her which she is very interested in. I will tell you I am amazed hearing her talk about her schedule and wonder how is this my child. I was good in school, but not as driven as she is. The love and ease at math blows my mind considering it was always a struggle with me. Science and History were my strong suit.
School tax.
