Oh I hope she is a girl! So adorable 😊 silkie babies are so tiny!

Is it possible that Eli is broody?
I mean that wouldn’t have affected her balance but now she is just sitting in the nest box on two ceramic eggs. I don’t know how she got both of them.
I brought her breakfast in bed and her hackles flared and she bit me.
Then she ate the breakfast I offered.
I don’t know how to tell if she is broody or has just retreated to the box because she is feeling unwell.
What does she do when the other girls come in? Does she growl? If it wasn’t for her balance I would say yes broody.

I don’t get this temperature thing at all. My little ones are 18 days old. So just a few days short of three weeks.
According to everything people post they are supposed to be at 84 degrees (F).
The temperature in the Chicken Palace right now is 58F.
How come they aren’t cold. I don’t think they would be so energetic if they were suffering so I am not too worried.
But I am a bit worried!
It’s freezing in my barn and my kiddos were 21 days years- they rarely go under their brooder plate. Only at night when o put them back in their bin for the night. They are fine I am sure.

I haven’t seen what happens when the others come near her in the nest boxes.
I know Babs has decided to use a different box.
When she is out of the box it all seems quite amicable.
I hauled her out just now. Made sure she ate something and then let her back in to her box. But having disturbed her she decided to come outside and she is running around with the other two
She did deliver the most enormous poop as she went outside. Very runny but most notable for sheer volume. I have never seen so much poop. Urates looked fine and the vet had done a fecal test so I know worms and coccidia are not an issue.
Her balance is almost back to normal. Not 100% but maybe 90%.
I guess I just keep going trying to encourage her to eat.

Rescued one baby bird last night and 2 today. The wind is blowing them out of the trees. Last night the one landed on the ground just inches from Lobo's mouth but he didn't try for it. I picked it up and Lety placed it in the pear tree along the fence line and the parents came and got it. Just a few minutes ago a pair of babies were trying to cross our fence but the chicken wire was stopping them. Me and Migos rounded them up and I sat them across the fence where mom n dad were waiting. Picture of the hero dog attached.

I am thinking Eli is broody but incompetent.
She came out, ate, drank, dust bathed and delivered the motherload of all poop. She ate some Artemesia and some grass and then headed back to the nest boxes. But she forgot which one she was in so now she is sitting on Babs’ egg from this morning rather than the two ceramic eggs she has been caring for all week.
She fell over once when she was heading back to the nest boxes but otherwise managed to stay upright and in control of her movements.
