Like you said, Aurora has no shame. She will destroy what she wants.Spring Cleaning
The main coop got a deep cleaning today and it needed it.

The nest boxes in particular were disgusting from Hattie and Betty sleeping in them.
Of course as soon as the new straw is down, Aurora was ready to party. She made a complete mess of my nicely laid out straw.

I had some chicken potpourri that someone gave me so I scented up the freshly cleaned nest boxes.

Put a fan in there.Getting hot outside. I had to bring my rooster buddy inside for the air conditioning. (We don’t want any overheated roosters now do we?)
Chooks have one in the coop. A/C in the house is better, and the other birds hang out under the porch where it’s cooler. I directed house air conditioned down to therePut a fan in there.
It is not really Babs or Eli's fault. When a broody comes off the nest they will go after anyone. They want zero attention from a rooster, and hens had better not look their way either. They are on a mission to eat, drink, poop and dust bath in as short a time as possible. Now that you are experiencing a broody for the first time. Be honest, it is not as bad as you imagined is it? Truthfully once you get through it the first time, it is a breeze the 2nd time.....or the 50th but who is counting.I really am. It is fascinating and terrifying at the same time.
She is getting more and more dedicated - she really flares at me when I grab her off the nest and she stays out only a few minutes each time.
I don’t know why she has it in for Babs - but she goes at her even when they are way away from the nest.
One blessing is that she is too preoccupied to pay any attention to the littles.

I dunno - I was thinking how anxious I would be having more than one of these monsters at a time!It is not really Babs or Eli's fault. When a broody comes off the nest they will go after anyone.
