This is Agathae. She is a Cream Legbar. She says hi to @BY Bob. She also lays BLUE EGGS.

This is a close up of her mug and her eyeball. She is going to stare at everyone until those of you who do not have a Cream Legbar get one or two.
I tried - but they hatchery was sold out of them - very popular here it seems....

I have a blue egg layer - Buttercup :)

It will not be this year, or maybe next year. That being said my sister questioned me on why none of my chickens lay blue eggs. I do not want blue eggs, I want brown, lots of brown eggs. Well SHE wants blue eggs, so apparently I need a blue egg layer.

Then try again.

Mugs from a calmer second outing, I ditched the pen since it cant keep the babies in and just trusted Brownie and myself to keep them safe as they explored. This worked out much better. The biggest danger to them seemed to be one of my cats who was watching them with wayyyy to much interest. I kept a close on him.

Brownie managed to get in a much needed and wanted dustbath for mother’s day. So I would call it a successful outing!

Ooohhhh...I think I see a cockerel!

They are soooo cute! I'm glad this outing went much better.

FYI: If you like the pen, just for a bit more safety, you can easily zip-tie some plastic mesh/netting to the bottom 6 inches or so. The stuff I linked to (there are lots of different choices out there) is designed like chicken wire, but the holes are smaller, and it has more rigidity than the snow fencing, so would zip-tie quite well. (You could just zip tie the whole height, too, so you don't have to cut it.
