What is up with one of my hens? Consistently, I get one stress egg every day (the wrinkled one) Nothing wrong with it except that it’s funny looking. So I save them all for myself.
Note: all the hens seem healthy enough, even heavier than they should be sometimes. My research shows that the egg deformation is caused by the hen being too stressed. There’s not a poultry psychologist around when I need one. I’ll shut up now! :duc

Good night littles

Last night they were still sleeping under their heat plate.
Tonight they have decided they don’t need it and have gathered up on top.

I’m not sure if that rooster that beat him up was even from next door. I haven’t seen him before or since. :idunno But the chickens are still here in my yard. Mine are under the porch. Jaffar is inside with me. It’s really such a beautiful day, I should be out somewhere, but I don’t feel like flying or even driving anywhere today.
Laziness is creeping up and strangling me !
“Say, what abridgement have you for this evening?
What masque, what music? How shall we beguile
The lazy time if not with some delight?”

(Shakespeare; A Midsummer’s Night Dream)

Well I would keep an eye on who it actually is, then keep an eye on her. Sometimes you just have to sit back and wait to see how things go.

They sure are growing aren’t they?

Do they ever go broody? Have you ever heard of any going broody?
Supposedly they do not. It has been bred out of them. I am hoping that @RebeccaBoyd other hens will teach them how to go broody.
