Aren't they actually Polkies? The silkies are growing up
So sorry to hear about the sick horse. The silkies are growing up
I have had great success with dry ice. You find all of the exits to the full l tunnels and close then all up but one. You pile dry ice over that one and cover the dry ice with dirt. The co2 created as the dry ice warms up is heavy. It goes down into the tunnels and forces the oxygen out. The rats all go to sleep to simply never wake up again. What a day, it started with hearing weird noises coming from inside the back wall of the coop. It ended with finding a rat doing a complete clean out of the coop a few days before intended.
I have mostly bare floor for tonight, till I can get some fresh wood chips tomorrow.
As for the ratuggg, I knew it was probably only a matter of time. There are alot of tunnels under my coop I found today
Also after deep diving into posts on BYC I am fair certain its a Norwegian rats, I saw one but I have no doubt there are more.
The battle has begun! Stripping the coop was step one. I also flooded the area I saw one in, Inspection of the hardware cloth and moving the food and water out into run is step 2. If they don’t depart I will get an electric trap and use one bite poison as a lure.
Needless to say I am exhausted after all the shenanigans today. I also don’t know what to do about the timeline for putting Brownie and the babies back out into coop. This throws quite the wrench in the works.
If anyone has any suggestions I am all earsfor now I think I am going to find my pillow.

Yes it is better than the Bute which is like Aspirin. Is Meloxicam OK if she has an ulcer? Best check with the vet - could aggravate the ulcer.
