Bolt is always right in front of me, so she gets her feet stepped on everyday, usually multiple times 🙄🤣
I tripped over Blanche yesterday and just about hurt myself! I can see it now…. I arrive at Emerg and the ER doctor asks me “how did you break your wrist? You tripped over a chicken?”

Hahaha

EDIT - just want to clarify I did not hurt myself I am good, Blanche is good 🫣

Oh no, she is my oldest hen.
I'm not talking about the stuff on it. Her nest is a ground nest so it gets a bit wet when it rains a lot- which it has.
I'm talking about how late she laid. I thought that healthy hens are supposed to lay not later than roughly 3 PM.
My hens lay up until they roost at night, then usually start it all over again next morning. Hens have a laying cycle of about 26 or 27 hrs so they will lay later and later each day, until they reset to the morning 🥰

Ugh 🤨

Bought a tow sprayer a couple yrs ago, never got around to putting together. Hauled it out of the box (yep never unboxed it), and the parts are missing 🤨

I really wanted to spray those weeds, so I moved it onto the empty stal and topped up up. Clunk… great now what?

Opened the lid to the tank and hey! There are the parts, and the instructions! Hahaha!

Happy days! And the box makes a great play thing for the chicks 😁

Marty is not happy with the camera near her nest box. She decided to try roosting with the rest - hanging with Mr P seems like a good thing!

I don’t think hens have watches.
I have had hens lay in the evening and in the middle of the night.
Bernie often lays late afternoon - 5pm.ish.
