Sorry for getting back so late to you ! They are cross Marans and Harcos, so pretty similar to what a Noirans must be like.
Lily has feathered legs and Kara doesn't (she has just some tiny ones).

Temper wise they are completely different from all my other chickens. They are very calm, spend a lot of time cuddling and giggling together, and just...dreaming. They remind me of some 12 years old school girls I knew (not me 😂).
They are not laying yet and from their attitude I don't think they will be before quite some time.
They are big chickens. I think they will be bigger than my bigger ex-batts.

Oooohhh, look at the shimmery colors on Kara in the first (and last) picture!

So, @ManueB - does that mean that they really aren't active foragers - that they tend to hang out near the feeders instead of 'rustling up' some of their own grub? Or is it more that they are just 'not as aggressive' at foraging as your others?

While Lety was out of town this past weekend I made the decision to turn the Guineas lose and leave them lose. After killing the copperhead in the pen that made the decision for me. They integrated fairly well with the chickens and dogs. This freed up their tractor se we moved Goldie and 4 in it.
How was she with that? I think Guineas are wild enough they will do well - esp as you don't have 'winter' like here.

We have a smaller hawk which snatched a young pullet but I believe that hawk is too small to grab a Guinea or full size chicken. I learned recently we have bald eagles. I saw one less than a mile from our place but I don't know if they would bother with chickens.
We also have Bald Eagles around here, I saw one about a mile up the road in the field a couple winters ago, haven't seen any since. But I know they are around. I am terrified they will snatch one of my chickens - they are huge birds and a strick from them will be an instant kill for a chicken I am sure.

Awwww. Eli borrowed her name from this Eli (remarkable story I think) and I am sure would be happy to lend it to Eli-too.

I remember you posting that when first you introduced them to us ♥️

These chickens can fly it seems! Mine must have Leghorn in them I am sure of it :)

Eli-too and Petunia like to hang out in here with me, I think the boys are getting rough out there - seems I have a few of them now.

Hopefully they won't harass the roosters this time! If I remember correctly, that is why you put them in the tractor in the first place.
Oh yes that was correct - now I remember!

Anyhow I will post a thread summing up everything that might contribute to why she had died, and maybe I'll learn. I think she was a golden comet, or some kind of mix. Here she is with her best friend Knokalina (Lhicken is in front, Knokalina is the white hen behind her)

That was in the wintertime, and the first picture I took of her. The second one, took on Saturday, was the last picture I took of her, though I'm sure she was in some of the all flock pictures... hmm I have a picture of Sam as a cockerel, and now that I am looking I have a few pictures of Lhicken as a pullet. I wonder what she looked like as a chick.
Oooo and a lovely comb and wattles - what a pretty hen, so sorry that she passed away.

Oh they are pretty pullets, I love the brown feathers mixed in, really gives the black ones a contrast and sheen. I can't wait to see what colour eggs they lay for you. They shouldn't be too far off laying, their combs and wattles are well established. Would they be considered a high production breed?

Who is the hen that has her head stuck in the dirt? She looks a little like my rescue pullet Dawn who is all grown up!!! and laying one small egg every day, can you believe it not like Petunia who lays teeny-weeny eggs every other day.
That's Cuckoo. She's a barred rock with wonky marks, so I suspect she's actually a barred x silver penciled cross, but not 100% sure. She goes Nuts for bananas

They don't spend that much time at the feeders. They probably eat less than my other bigger chickens which is logical since they are not laying.

When they are out and about, they are good foragers. But, they seem to spend a lot of time just doing nothing - babbling softly to one another or looking at the scenery.

I'm not sure, it would depend how much harco and how much Marans they have. They don't seem to be early layers as most production breeds are.

I think I might be able to let Willow hatch out some chicks 😁
I was talking about it to my dad nonstop to try and convince him.
"The post office lady 'C' wants some roosters because her roo is getting old. She has tons of chickens. What's another (no idea how many)? I'm sure she or 'T' will take them if they hatch!"
"Call. If she can, then the bird can hatch them."
"DON'T CALL MY ANGEL "BIRD!" SHE HAS A NAME😡👿👿👿"

We also saw a bald eagle eating a dead pig with some vultures. My dad saw it.
I'm sure that they would mess with chickens, if they are hungry.
