Can she talk like some of the large birds? Will she mimic Bubba or Branch when they crow?

She is learning some words and phrases. She was about 5 months old when my brother got her in late August or early September so just over a year old. Technically according to my bother she is still a baby until around 2. She can say Yeah, pretty bird, happy bird, peek a boo and the newest phrase is "I love You". In the next year her language will increase but again according to my brother's research she will have a limited vocabulary. Roughly about 100 words or so. She tries to interact with the chickens when she sees them out of the windows. She screams at them, so I do not know if she likes them or hates them. I am hoping she will mimic the boys in time. My brother does not want a crowing conure.

That's Cuckoo. She's a barred rock with wonky marks, so I suspect she's actually a barred x silver penciled cross, but not 100% sure. She goes Nuts for bananasView attachment 3541418

Funny, I had a hen called Nuts, and I have a hen called Bananas, and I have a cockerel called Sir Cuckoo.
Cuckoo looks real funny, I think that should be a POW

Oh no who died?

Anyhow I will post a thread summing up everything that might contribute to why she had died, and maybe I'll learn. I think she was a golden comet, or some kind of mix. Here she is with her best friend Knokalina (Lhicken is in front, Knokalina is the white hen behind her)

That was in the wintertime, and the first picture I took of her. The second one, took on Saturday, was the last picture I took of her, though I'm sure she was in some of the all flock pictures... hmm I have a picture of Sam as a cockerel, and now that I am looking I have a few pictures of Lhicken as a pullet. I wonder what she looked like as a chick.

They don't spend that much time at the feeders. They probably eat less than my other bigger chickens which is logical since they are not laying.

When they are out and about, they are good foragers. But, they seem to spend a lot of time just doing nothing - babbling softly to one another or looking at the scenery.

I'm not sure, it would depend how much harco and how much Marans they have. They don't seem to be early layers as most production breeds are.

Well I don’t blame them. You have lovely scenery to look at.
I see why you call them the giggles.

The Pentagonists put on a growth spurt overnight and the idea that they might outgrow the door to the brooder house and get stuck inside doesn’t seem so far fetched.
It would be Calypso or Tassels first as they are big girls. I must say I may die laughing if that actually happens.
Anyway, I explained to them all that sooner or later they have to leave the cardboard box and they had better check out which roost options they fancy before they get stuck.
So last night, just before bedtime, Sylvie went to investigate the biggest roost to try it on for size. Soon she was joined by Piglet.
I think they liked the look of it. Very promising.

I think the mini Mohawk makes her look more fierce. I love them.
