I feel for you! We had to give 2 hens butt baths/blow dry and feather cut because the poop/dirt was caked- they're feelin the breeze a lot more..... but the feathers will fill in just fine!I think I need protective gear for my hands. Maybe also my face.

I did that to get one of my hens. Went in after full dark with my red head lamp. I put a towel gently over her and put her in a bin, put the lid gently over the top. I took her back out the same way, and put her back on the roost.A nighttime roost attack might work.
